What is a transformational meeting?
When there's a new policy, system or something is changing that impacts how the team and the business is run - that’s where a transformational meeting is required.
Because as humans we like consistency and change can feel daunting.
And by having transformational meetings, that helps to mitigate any pushback and support the team to understand why the change is needed so that they can fully get behind it.
Connection
When you have a team, it’s vital to stay abreast of what’s happening throughout your company and team.
Otherwise holes form and you develop a leaky bucket, which means a drop in culture, efficiency and ultimately your bottom dollar.
In our modern day world many of us are like ships in the night - passing each other without actually checking in, so regular meetings help to negate this. This applies to online businesses too!
Clarity and accountability
If you don’t explain new policies and procedures, updates etc properly with your team then there will be errors and this can breed resentment and have a negative effect on your culture, reputation and business!
Remember that assuming makes an ass out of you and me!
You can’t create a policy and teach it once and then assume that it will be done correctly and people just get it. There needs to be a level of accountability.
Enrol your team
So we know as the business owner, no one cares more about your business than you do!
You know why you created certain policies and updates, however your team will not be as informed as to why.
So if you don’t enroll them then they may not understand the importance of why you are doing something and then they may not enforce it correctly.
Our process helps everyone get on the same page and feel included and thus become an advocate for what you’re doing.
Our transformational meeting process
You have a new policy, procedure, or item that you want to address with your team.
Write down the agenda in order
What you would like to introduce and why it’s important
Give context - why it's necessary. For example the way things are done now are xxx (negative issues) which results in x for you and x for the business. When we execute this well then xxx (list positive points)
Counter pre-objections (you may be thinking x and x, however x and x)
Teach and/or train new item;
Role play/practice new procedure if applicable
Delegate specific actions. Have your staff fill in when and what they will be doing to learn new item
